Transmagic special features can Repair (Heal) from solid to solid.
The unique "TransMagic
Repair" system makes many repairs automatically, such
as, stitching loose surfaces (faces) together in IGES
files. Advanced Repair options, such as Full Repair and
Assembly Repair, close gaps in geometry to create
“water-tight” solid models and fix tough geometry
problems.
Lite Repair
Stitches
together "loose" surfaces to create a solid model and
re-orients surface normals to face outward.
Special algorithms in
TransMagic simplify the geometry where possible into
their analytic forms. So a planar surface is represented
by a plane rather than a NURBS surface. This increases
efficiency in the downstream use of the model.
Utilizes "tolerant edges" to repair minor gaps or
inaccuracies or to accommodate edges that do not lie
perfectly on a surface helping to create a "water-tight"
solid model.
Full Repair
Takes 3D repair a step further and
re-intersects all model surfaces to produce precise
intersections where possible and tolerant edges when
necessary.

Full repair
Also
repairs geometric errors in the surfaces themselves
resulting in a much "cleaner" model with higher
precision.
Advanced Repair
Includes three very powerful
options to be used when special cases for healing are
identified as follows.
Repair All Display
This option will Repair files errors that
prevent the model from being displayed.
Super Repair
(located on "Geometry" pull
down menu)
Used as a last resort on very poor CAD models to
totally rebuild every surface in the model and
re-stitch them into a solid.
Repair Assembly
Use this option to repair assemblies of parts.
This feature will individually repair each part
of an assembly and allow you to move and save
each assembly separately.
Check Model
(The major CAD systems typically
cannot read a solid model file if it is not
watertight.)
Used to validate the integrity of a model prior
to translation to insure the best quality
output.
Check model reports to the user if any errors
are found in the model and will validate if the
model is a solid.
